When the world is too superficial and too isolated, let this author introduce you to her friends. These are real people, who have weathered tough times, people who value hard work, solid values, deep friendships, hearty laughter. This book is comfort food in an age of drive-through.
Stop in at these farmhouses with the author. You’ll be warmly welcomed and will leave with a hopeful smile.

I started reading your book last night and loved it. Your writing is captivating. I had to force myself to stop reading two hours after my bedtime. Some of the names were familiar (the Kuhns) which really brought your stories alive for me. During my short time at NABC I played for a singing group (a male octet I think) and like all the other musical groups we had our Sunday at Rabbit Hill Church. Pretty sure I heard Marv Dewey 'practice' preach there as well. Anyhow, please write another book. You have a gift in story telling. These are the stories we need to be reminded of.

(When Loren finished his ministry at Rabbit Hill in 2004 he was called to Pilgrim Baptist Church in Vancouver where he served for 12 years before retiring).
I enjoyed this book very much. The format of the book was good - lots of short stories but with a coherent sequence. Sig's writing style is down to earth - just like the people in the book. Her stories are both humorous, and heart-felt. Congratulations on your first book!

It is delightful to discover that Sig Stark has captured, for us, such an inspiring and entertaining collection of treasured stories from real life. Rabbit Hill Baptist Church, the oldest North American Baptist Church in the Canadian Northwest, highlights the heritage of Christian faith and godliness among a group of hard-working pioneers whose humility and resilient faith persists, to this day. There is so much in this book that keeps me grateful and makes me smile.

We are grateful that Sig has found a way to carry our stories beyond our church walls. We believe we have always been a welcoming community and, now, we trust you also feel welcomed through this book. You will get to know people who were, or are, currently part of our historic little church and their presence will bring you laughter, reflection and, hopefully, some inspiration to brighten your journey.

Readers of Potluck at Rabbit Hill don't have to rely on pot-luck; they're in for a sure-fire treat. With an engaging, homey style reminiscent of Stuart McLean, Sig Stark introduces her readers to the cast of 'characters' among whom she lived and ministered as a pastor's wife in a small rural Alberta community. Stark's stories are often hilarious, sometimes reflective, but always captivating. Potluck at Rabbit Hill is a virtual feast for the mind, soul, and funny bone. - Heidi Janz, PhD
I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your book! It was like leaping straight back into my childhood and having an afternoon visit with everyone there. I couldn’t put it down. Made me late for a commitment! Thank you so much for putting your memories on paper. I had a great afternoon with our Rabbit Hill friends!
